Step through the doors at Wild Thyme & Honey and you’ll feel the spirit of the place welcome you like a warm hug.
We have drawn inspiration from the natural beauty of the Cotswold countryside on our doorstep to create a place where life is sweet as the honey in our hives, and uplifting as the aromatic thyme that grows on our stone walls.
Go Alfresco
Fresh air is part of the lifestyle here, and on a summer’s day the view from our garden over the Ampney Brook is bucolic, with bees buzzing among the wildflowers and birds on the wing.
Dine alfresco under the canopy on the terrace, or in The Hives, one of our glass domes on the banks of the brook. Sundowners are served in the cosy courtyard, and when cooler weather inevitably rolls around, outdoor fires, snuggly sheepskins and woollen rugs will keep you toasty.
The great indoors
Throughout our bar, lounge, restaurant and private rooms, our interiors strike that elusive balance between luxury and laid-back, stylish yet supremely comfortable. We use a soft, neutral palette and natural materials to create harmonious schemes of Cotswold stone, reclaimed timber, wool, linens and burlaps, and industrial lighting and hardware inspired by the working farms that we neighbour.
The Rooms
Our 24 immaculate rooms and suites all have king sized beds, seriously good showers, Nespresso machines and charming views.
Our largest apartment even has a private terrace, hot tub, and sauna. But much of what makes your stay with us special is unseen. It’s about anticipating your every need, from a book rest on your bathtub to our handy pantries stocked with goodies, available around the clock.
Genius Loci
In ancient Rome, the Genius Loci was a guardian spirit believed to protect the unique essence of a place. Today, the term is still used to describe the intangible elements that evoke strong emotions and create the soul of a location. It’s a concept that we hold close to our hearts as we nurture Wild Thyme & Honey.
